Savannah, Georgia

We stayed tied at our dock in Savannah for two days.  Day one we had a relax & laundry day and just hung around the boat, taking good advantage of the free internet.  That evening we popped into the local pub and sat at the bar (the BEST place to chat with the locals).  We chatted and shared stories with two nice young couples, had a bite to eat, and listened to great live music.  Hanging out at the local pub is always fun.  We ended the evening by watching some good ‘ol t.v.  Sometimes just some regular “normalcy” is appreciated.

Day two, Jim, Mimi, Jeff and I took the city bus into Savannah.  Like most of the cities along this coast, Savannah is a vibrant and historic town, full of sights and sounds.  We were fortunate that there was an ARTS festival going on so we walked around and checked it out, had lunch and then walked some more.  We took the city bus back to the marina and enjoyed yet another quiet night on the boat, tired, with feet up and t.v. on.

Today, we left the marina first thing in the morning, taking advantage of slack tide to get off the dock without having to fight the current.  We met up with Jim and Mimi, who were anchored nearby and continued our journey North.  We just crossed into South Carolina and the target for today is a mooring ball in Beaufort.
