Nashville, Day Two

Stats:
Day Two in Nashville, TN

Last night we went out with the folks from Potest Fieri to hear some live music.  The main strip in Nashville is just up the stairs from our dock.  Every place has at least one band playing, and often several bands, one on every floor.  We went from place to place, enjoying the music and people-watching, both of which were first class!  We got home in the wee hours (which I haven't done for YEARS!) just in time make it indoors before a thunderstorm struck.

Today we slept in, or at least tried to.  We are right beside the train station and they are doing construction nearby, so it was an earlier morning than we hoped, despite our pillow-over-the-head efforts.  We got the bikes out and toured around Nashville, taking in the Farmers' Market, Capitol Buildings, Tennessee State Museum and other sights.

Tennessee State Museum.  Very interesting information and artifacts presented in accessible and engaging displays.

It doesn't seem to fit the theme, but the Tennessee State Museum has an Egyptian Mummy.  Interesting though.

We did a little shopping and came home for a nap.  Back at the boat we met another couple checking out the dock.  Sure enough, they were another Canadian couple doing the loop.  We hit it off immediately and shared stories and a drink with Grant and Cindy from the boat As the Crow Flies.  They left their boat in Kentucky and are land exploring by rental car.

Tonight the plan is to have a light dinner onboard and then another night on the town.  Oh, can our bodies handle it?!

Hey Susan and Jeff .... Sheila and I are avidly following your great adventures. I was also surprised when you said Andrew Jackson killed Charles Dickens in a duel ( wrote A Christmas Carol and A Tale of Two Cities amongst many others ). Andrew Jackson killed Charles DICKINSON in a duel.

Thanks Scott. The editor missed that one (lol). When all else fails... blame Jeff.
