The weather was cool, cloudy but not too windy so after fueling up and a pump out we left Lundington around 11:00 and headed south. Out on the lake we found long, slow two-four foot rollers with no chop. They were coming from the North and we were heading South so we were taking them on the stern. It's hard to describe what rollers from the stern are like. They don't show up on pictures at all. It feels a little like a small roller coaster. The waves come up from behind, it feels like you pause for a minute at the top while they pass under, and then you slowly surf down the other side, keeping the boat headed in the right direction, away from a beam sea. It almost feels like the boat is sliding backwards for a bit and then smoothly swooshing forward. It is an unusual feeling that's hard to describe and not overly comfortable, but safe. Luckily, neither of us get seasick at all, but if one did, I would guess this is the kind of sea where one might get seasick.

We thought about pushing on but we've ordered supplies that will be delivered in Muskegon, a town a little more South, tomorrow. So logistics in mind, we pulled into Pentwater, anchored and played cards for the afternoon. Jeff won. I think he may be cheating.
Tomorrow the forecast is good so we'll make the longer jump to Muskegon, hopefully meet up with old friends we met way back last week in Mackinac Island. The weather has not been cooperating at all but hopefully we'll make it to Chicago in time to see Rachie-McBachie's (my niece, Rachel Beach, google her) opening. She's showing her art in Chicago next weekend and her sister, my other niece, Cassie-McBassie (not her real name, hehe) will be there too. We're hoping to make it in time for a visit. Another family rendezvous would be MOST welcome.
I love cruising.
