Melbourne Beach

We travelled North from Vero Beach to Melbourne, Florida.  We arrived just as the sun was setting and enjoyed a quiet night watching the stars and listening to the dolphins playing in the water around us.  First thing in the morning, even before coffee, Jeff got up and put the new solar panel system together.  It works great and puts out 45 watts of deliciously juicy free power. Love it!

It was turning out to be a scorcher of a day.  We went into town for a walk then back at the boat we settled in to enjoy quite a treat.  The Melbourne Air show was happening today and we were poised just right to take it in from the boat.

We spent the afternoon watching planes of all sorts dipping and diving over head.  The culmination of the show was the Blue Angels -- which are comparable to our Canadian Snow Bird. The whole boat shook with the roar as they flew over. What a treat to be sitting there on the boat in the sun with what felt like our own personal air show going on overhead. It got hot enough that I even went for a swim off the boat, which I don't usually do unless I can see right to the bottom.

The next day we moved across the channel and waited as our buddies Jim and Mimi from the boat Perfect Balance were just back from the Bahamas and were about to catch up to us.  What a treat! We spent the day catching up, sharing stories and reminiscing.

We travelled North together to Cocoa, anchored and the four of us dinghied over to visit with other loopers, Dave and Michelle from the boat Just Us.  The six of us spent the afternoon visiting and laughing so hard we ended up with sore cheeks! Great fun!
